Don’t just take our word for how good a Formula Ford Race Car experiences is!
Here is what some of our customers had to say…

The FFEA drive at Broadford was an amazing experience that I’ve been talking about ever since. It was all and more than I initially expected. Very professional operation – from the sit down safety & driving briefing, the road car laps with our professional race driver providing direction and tips, to getting strapped into the Formula Ford racing machine and ‘Go, Go, Go’, What a hoot!
I was made to feel welcome and important throughout. I had never driven an open wheeler race car before – but I certainly will be again. And it will be one of these machines – great to drive and relatively easy if you listen carefully to the thorough instruction and advice you get from the experts on the day.
I cannot recommend this business highly enough. And, I can’t wait to have another session when FFEA are back in Victoria.

I have wanted to do this for maybe 5 years or more, but just did not make it to Wakefield Park, where I thought was the closest to home.
Broadford Track location was an easy trip from home in the west of Melbourne and the weather was perfect, I had been to the track, though never driven it, as I missed our MGCC sprint day while doing an engine rebuild in my Mgb.
Scott’s briefing was both enjoyable and enlightening, with good tips for driving this circuit and the cars, ie difficult corners explained, gear selection, how you can get into trouble in these cars. Not to heavy not too light, just right.
The sign on and race gear people on Friday 12th Dec 14 were just great, made it easy for all.
I had 20 laps for my 54th birthday, a great chance to get a little more used to these light open wheel racecars, a pit stop in the middle for a chat and a breather.
Tim Macrow gave us a look at the track in a road car, doing a great job explaining the witches hats for braking and apex points, and the dangers of the two tricky corners of the track.
My biggest worry was the pedals (size 13 feet)and gear changes (right hand)! The teams advice sorted that out. Landed car No1, that looked and felt the part.
After 4 laps or so I felt ok in the car, deciding to give the hard corners the respect they deserve, not wanting to spin as others had before my turn. The straights, Turn 1 and the first turn of the esses were the only places I felt safe to squeeze the throttle a little more on the exit, feeling the G forces these cars can produce, a good feeling at that.
These cars are fantastic to drive, and quite quick on the straights used 3rd & 4th gears only. Steering is firm like my MG, with great feedback with no power assistance but the lightness of the car makes them very nimble to steer. Really enjoyed my 20 laps to get used to the Formula Ford, and made it through without running off the track or spinning, that’s good!

I knew it was going to be a great experience but when you are actually sitting in the cockpit of a 400kg rocket driving at speeds up to 200km/h, it exceed all expectations.
The relentless power up through the gears; the force of the wind forcing your head sideways with a slight turn at top speed; and how exhausted you are after completing your laps…. Huge respect and appreciation for the professionals now.
The whole team at Formula Ford Experience Australia were right on the ball with every detail from the safety briefing (which makes you sit up & listen), to the track review in normal cars talking you through what needs to happen.
You have a great formula & process to continue a successful business. I have no doubt that you will continue to tweak, improve & fine tune the business just like you are forever doing to the cars!!! 🙂
All the best.
See you again in Qld

Thanks for a great morning, the experience was great from the briefing to getting back out of the car would recommend it to anybody, the attitude of the staff is very enthusiastic and helpful with whatever you need to know. With no issues on our day of driving it is good to hear for you guys and us as drivers. A lot of it come down to the briefing and the way it was relayed to us drivers, very directive but enjoyable at the same time. Then you get in the car after your viewing lap and the staff are still there giving guidance and telling you how to drive. That’s when we get to drive, great experience out there on the track, if you listened to instructions then that is when the real fun in these cars begins go at your own pace and build confidence.

A credit to all and the cars, will be looking to do this again, recommend to anyone.
Cheers again much appreciated

I would highly recommend anyone that “feels the need for speed” to experience the Formula Ford Race Car events. Driving a real race car with no-one in your ear to tell you when to hit the brakes or change gears is the way to go. They are a go-kart on steroids!! The staff were fantastic, the sighting laps with the experts were worth the price of admission alone, well almost. Don’t wait, do it.!

I really enjoyed the Formula Ford experience. The staff were great and the cars were really enjoyable to drive, and very reliable which is a pleasant change from my usual racecar. I’d strongly recommend this to anyone, especially the lap upgrade which was totally worth it. Thanks to all the crew at FFEA for a great time!

I attended an event not long ago at broadford race track. I’m sure you have heard it all before but as a motor sport fanatic, driving a single seater was literally a dream come true and I’m most thankful for the time and effort that goes into running an event like this.

The cars were presented as if they were ready for race one of the formula ford season. The team that was present at the track were extremely helpful in all aspects be it simply signing in or giving advice on how to drive the car better. All in all it was an inspiring experience and one that will stay with me for life.

Definitely will be seeing me again soon!

I had a great time at my FFEA event (Broadford, VIC)! The cars were well maintained and felt nice and tight, and though it took a few goes round the track to get my hand in, the race staff were amazing at keeping the slower drivers to the left so those who were going faster (me and a couple of others) could enjoy their experience. I was in the longer #1 car which felt stable and able to really hammer it into the corners.

We are seriously looking forward to the official photos from the event and I am keen to go again sometime soon!

I have spent many hours on race tracks but never in a solo track-only vehicle. It was a fantastic experience. The fact that you can turn up, jump into all the kit and the car and drive home without any of the hassle of trailers, prepping tyres, fuelling etc is blissful. I will be doing another day soon! 10/10.

Fantastic.. From the time we got there we all had smiles on our faces. Can’t wait to do it again but you need to do a minimum of 8-10 laps to really get the experience full filled.. Loved it.

I totally enjoyed last driving experience with FFEA on 9 Oct at Mallala.

Another exhilarating experience! This was my third drive with FFEA – it just gets better and better. The experience from earlier drives enabled me drive faster, negotiate the corners better and have much more confidence in the capability of the car.
Hasta la vista – I will return!

Thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Good induction conducted, well informed and easy to follow. Practical induction on track in a sedan was also very well presented and I believe most helpful for some who may not have been very experienced. Drive was fantastic.

Fantastic feeling to drive an open wheeler and would recommend it to others.

I really wanted to get my husband something different for his 40th Birthday and had no idea what. As long as we have been together he has done nothing like this and I was unsure on what he would think. The morning of his birthday when we gave it to him, he was really surprised, especially when he realised he got to drive it himself. We were really lucky you were in Adelaide in the school holidays so myself and our 3 boys got to come along and watch also. I could tell my husband was a little nervous to start with waiting for his turn and so was I but after his drive he could not stop talking about how fantastic it was. He would refer to himself as if he was a world famous race car driver. Ha Ha. The kids loved watching their Dad and got to tell all their friends at school when they returned. Thank you for a great experience and I am sure he will be back with his mates one day soon.

Got this as a present from my daughter for my 70th birthday. As an old ‘petrol head’ I could not say no. The instruction and handling by the staff was excellent, weather was perfect and the racing car was in very good condition. I was very slow in the first lap, but it got much better later. Unfortunately, I had only 5 laps and that was not enough to get the best out of it. Just when I started to get the hang of it, the checkered flag was waved… Will do it again for my 80th ( I hope).

I was given 5 laps in a Formula Ford for my birthday from my wife and kids and loved it. Was nice to get away with the family, not too far from Sydney. Goulburn was relaxing and affordable to stay in the night before. Had lots of fun!

excellent day out.
Had a fantastic day, the weather tried to work against us but only caused a delay.
The location was beautiful and the undulating track set into the hillside in Broadford was superb with two good straights and every corner offering a different aspect. The staff were friendly and very professional and the formula ford car was awesome. Took my own helmet with gopro attached so have some terrific video to show friends and family. Had a totally unforgettable day and would not have changed a thing.

This was a 60th birthday surprise; and it was!
Had a ball. A bit of a delay because of the rain, but in the end got out there and had a go. It’s well over 40 years since I went faster than the legal limit, so it was a bit of a challenge. Add that to the fact that my daily drive for the past six years has been an Isuzu diesel ute and you can get the picture! But I’m glad I did it and thanks to my kids for getting me the opportunity and I’d recommend that anyone has a go. The team look after and encourage you all the way and looked after everyone from the novice to the expert. Great!

Had a great day, very enjoyable.
I had a fantastic day racing the formula ford car. The staff and management were excellent, very friendly and well organised. The race track is a very good design, challenging at times but that depends on how good the driver is. I would certainly recommend the experience to any race car enthusiast. A must if you have ever wanted to drive a real race car.

Fantastic Experience
The sheer power of these little machines is incredible. Watching from the sidelines still does not do this experience any justice. The staff were very friendly and very professional. The team did ensure every participant got the most out of their day. Highly recommend it. I was lucky enough to complete 20 laps, which was the perfect distance. Some other competitors were only doing 5 and they found they were only starting to feel comfortable and in control after 5 laps.

One for the revheads
This is one for the confident driver. If you like speed in a safe environment, this is the one! If you drive properly, you will easily get to 160 – 170 kph. Although anyone who is competent in a manual shift car could have fun, I wouldn’t recommend it for the under experienced or timid driver. They may as well potter around the supermarket car park. There were a few there during my day, creeping around and holding everybody else up. If you really want to have a blast, I would highly recommend this experience. I was given 5 laps as a gift and upgraded to ten laps on the day. Wished I had another ten to go when I finished.

One of the great experiences of my life!
Mick Firstly big thanks to www.ffea.com.au for the best driving experience I have ever experienced. A review for everyone interested – warning it’s a bit lengthy.

I completed the FFEA 15 lap experience in their Formula Ford today. I arrived at 1:45 for a 2pm session and was finished and leaving by 4pm with grins from ear to ear, a very well run experience.

The sign-on was straight forward and the owner conducted a Drivers Briefing which was a perfect balance of seriousness and danger and enough to go have fun. I was interested to see how they controlled the drivers and speed in comparison to other experiences – interestingly the only thing controlling it was me, they do however have a disclaimer that requires you to repair the car for any damage incurred, but that said you can go as hard as you like. QR double booked them and at the last minute the location was changed to Lakeside International Raceway this was a blessing in disguise because you need a track like Lakeside to really experience these Formula Fords

Straight out of the pits they are awesome acceleration of a 450kg + Driver open wheeler is something else and a 4 speed H pattern gearbox that was very easy to get used to considering you only use 3rd and 4th at Lakeside. From then it was warm up lap and into it, they inspire confidence straight away and 5 laps later they call me in for a quick stop and an observation that I am shifting down to 3rd too early into Hungry Corner and I could apply more brakes and slow down earlier. Other than that enjoy the experience. With that in mind the next couple of times through I didn’t grab 3rd until just before turn in to Hungry. Within 10 laps I was able to push the car to within my comfortable limits including flat out of carousel over the top and a little lift and left foot brake under the bridge before a fast run into Hungry and a bit of opposite lock on exit which was the highlight of the experience. The car had tonnes of grip considering the lack of down force or tyre but when it got to the edge of grip they showed they are a small wheelbase and commanded respect. After my 15 lap experience I still wasn’t able to go flat onto the main straight but awfully close, some more time and it would be flat onto the main straight and under the bridge – this would be the wildest run around lakeside considering you are sitting 40mm from the ground with the air flowing past at a rate of knots very different to being inside a tin top.

My experience around the track in my Evo 9 was fantastic to know the lines for the track but the witches hats provided by FFEA were ideal to accommodate from a 1st timer to an experienced driver they gave indication of lines and braking without wrecking the experience. With only 4 cars on the track even with a difference in driver speed I only passed 3 people and therefore was able to attack flat out to my ability very quickly and enjoyably. The braking of the Formula Ford was also very different to anything I have driven, awesome braking performance from any speed but easily over braked and sliding, just need some respect and you are very well rewarded. Finally after I exited the car the staff from www.ffea.com.auapproached me and asked how I enjoyed the experience with I had a massive grin they could see and said it was awesome, they spoke with me about the car and experience and asked what I drove, they also followed on to say they enjoy when the cars are driven hard as a race car which was great for the ego Really laid back experience overall with no limits – this is how a race experience should be.
I would highly recommend Formula Ford Experience Australia for any anyone considering a ride for themselves or gift for someone

What a thrill !
It was a bit scary realising how totally independent you are in the car, but half way through the first lap I was screaming with joy down the back straight ! Very nimble cars & a true racing experience.
Best fun I have had in years. Well worth it…

Well worth it.
After usual safety briefing (which is not too long and worth listening) you pretty much get stuck into it. There is a two lap observation drive in a sedan with a proper race driver and then you get going. There were 5 cars which look and feel like the really thing, so when they say they are race prepared and unrestricted, I have no reason to doubt it. First couple of laps is a bit of a shock to the system, but you soon get use to the car and they are great little cars. Heaps of go and awesome steering feel. You really can get an appreciation for the car and its capability inside of ten laps. The officials do get a little nervous as you start going quicker, which I think is in part due to the widely varying speeds people choose to circulate at and the fact that a small mistake that goes off track will mean mechanic time and lost time. The good part is they let you overtake on the straights if you get stuck behind a slow car. Awesome fun, and a very well run operation.
Would definitely do again.

Formula Ford – Wow Factor
One of the best experiences! I have done a number of heart thumping trills before, but this one is amongst the best fun I have ever had. The staff were professional and patient. A single seat formula race car chance of a life time. Fast, safe and satisfying. Still smiling days after the day. Would recommend to anyone who wants to experience what the professionals race drivers do for a living. I think this is far better than the V8 Supercar experience.
